Amazing present from the Italian FA
Hi Everyone,
I so excited about this week’s top ten as it includes an amazing gift from the Italian FA. They have released even more of the Uefa Pro License thesis’ from some of the games’ greatest thinkers who came through their coaching school.
Professional leagues are now back in full flow with pre-seasons shortened you can really see the effects it’s having on those who had less time than others. Lastly here in the UK, we’ve had tighter rules including, essentially, banning of indoor football. Outdoor is still going but if outbreaks continue to worsen we may be back to no football again. Anyway on to the top 10.

An interesting video from Marcelo Bielsa. Essentially saying world-class players come up with solutions themselves but average players believe they have limits and his job as a coach is to help them find those solutions
Another great video from Eddie Jones. about players being able to take ownership of decisions on the field. Are you coaching your players to have the bravery to make on-field decisions for the team?
I wanted this in my top ten as it got me thinking about this. How many situations as a coach am I putting my players in to make decisions, to recognise the problems, and to allow them to try different solutions to develop their knowledge of the game?
A scientific study into the effects of sprint interval training on performance and lactate build up in adolescent footballers. conclusion...sprint training has a positive effect.
I found this stat amazing from Everton’s game last week. Do we place too much emphasis on running around rather than positioning?
Definitely worth a listen if you want to hear about top people at the top of their profession, with athlete-centered approaches to development. great tips on helping your players on the mental side of the game.
