First up this week is an infographic from Tom Skeath on Co-coaching. How many coaches do you work with within a session? Do they know their roles and responsibilities? Tom’s infographic describes the pitstop mentality of co-coaching.
Next is Tom Hartley with a thread on how he believes diversity in coaching can be key to unlocking the full potential of teams. areas such as empathy and understanding, problem-solving and decision-making, player inspiration, and increase innovation and creativity are where Tom can see this being most beneficial.

The Coaches Voice has a great interview with Brentford coach Justin Coachrane on his journey from playing to Tottenham, Manchester United and now Brentford. An interesting journey for all coaches aspiring to get into the professional side of football. https://www.coachesvoice.com/cv/justin-cochrane-interview-manchester-united-tottenham-brentford/
Tome Hartleys article on the power of unstructured environments in nurturing talent. From promoting creativity, resourcefulness, adaptability and enjoyment. Unstructured environments can also promote holistic development by encouraging athletes to focus on their intrinsic motivation, social connections, and emotional well-being. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/unearthing-hidden-gems-power-unstructured-nurturing-athletic-hartley/
Next up is the England football learning teams video on position-specific play by Warren Hackett. This video should help and give ideas for sessions for those who’s players struggle to keep their shape and the ball.
Another coaching story but this one from a former Premier League Winner and international footballer Ruud Van Nistelrooy, current PSV head coach. The reason I like this was his humility and humbleness in wanting to start from the bottom in coaching as he knew there was so much to learn and wanted a place to make mistakes and grow.
I like this thread from Steve Grieve as it talks through the positioning of your attacking players (11v11) and the advantages and disadvantages of each. Great when looking at different ways of maximizing your attacking talent within your team.
Foundation age coaching with a great thread on the benefits of small-sided games. I’m a big believer in SSG in all age groups but here are some of the takeaways. Increase skill development opportunities, more touches, more actions on the ball, etc.
For those that have the resources and want here is the sporting resources 10 benefits of using video analysis. benefits include visual feedback, player motivation, parent involvement, and more.

Not that you need another coaching newsletter but this one is really good from Cameron Herbert. It’s called the weekly rondo and it’s split into sections such as the topic of the week, a coach’s corner sections and the exercise of the week. Have a read and let me know what you think.
