Insightful question from Peter Motzenbecker. How do you feel and value space? How might this then influence your game model and training sessions, constraints, praise etc.
360 scouting team with their ways to exploit a flat 4-4-2 and also how to mitigate against those weaknesses. Have you ever taught your players how to exploit certain formations?
I know we’ve gone through making game models before but I think it’s so important to how you then create your sessions, plus there’s always something new to learn from a different perspective on game models.
Another great question with some wonderful replies. what’s the smallest change to your coaching, that’s made the biggest difference? For me it is waiting before interrupting (i.e. see if the same situation comes up again and then player(s) learn from the previous mistake or do I need to intervene. You’ll be surprised how players correct things themselves without the need for you to.
New(ish) Barca manager Xavi going through his philosophy. it’s in spanish but with subtitles but always nice to hear from those at a higher level. Whilst not applicable there are always lessons and takeaways.
Geir Jordet here breaking down how Manchester City’s midfield master Kevin De Bruyne applies scanning. great breakdown of which most of this is unconscious but for us as coaches how can we start to create sessions that build and incite that behaviour in our players.
