A great insight into one of the great midfielders of his generation, he even credits Roy Hodgeson as one of his coaching influences. So the linked article may be a bit heavy to read and take in but it's an interesting perspective. It basically says, as far as evidence-based coaching methodologies are concerned we should rule out using direct instruction when coaching, which is in direct conflict with guided discovery. Also that there shouldn’t be a best when it comes to coaching style but possibly fluidity that changes depending on players.

Whilst you won't necessarily have the tools talked about in this video, I like the key points of working with players on analysis and analyzing their performance.
