Now that the government has started easing the lockdown rules in the UK. I’ve seen a great debate on whether rules now allow you to provide 1 on 1 coaching to your players. It’s a complex issue that has many factors from health and safety, to liability/insurance, to motivation and mental well being. I just hope any coach who putting on sessions is taking every pre-caution possible to minimise the risk to themselves and the player as well as by extension their families. I personally won’t/wouldn’t and also wouldn’t encourage it but each person has to make their mind up with all the information available. comment below or on twitter on what you would do. Anyway enough of me and on to the top 10…

I thought I would lead with this one, Dave Collins from Grey Matters shows his Framework for coaching decision making. So many interesting points to take into consideration.
Up and coming coach René Maric posted a video from about off the ball movement being a very underrated skill in basketball but the same is true in football.
An article on learning how to learn. This one I would say is more for you the coach rather than the players. One particular quote I like “learning is not a project with a beginning, a middle, and an end. You need to fall in love with the process.”
Some people say GK doesn’t do much but a great slide from Tony Elliot on the challenges the modern goalkeeper faces. A great resource for you to get thinking of your goalkeepers and help them.
Happening on the 15th of July but might be one to put in your diary. A talk about the importance of play and games in development. Everyone loves games whether your a 5 year old starting their first session or in a vets team bring the joy to your sessions.
Once again thanks for reading and keep those comments and resources coming in! Feel free to share this post or even better the newsletter itself. Have a great week!

Dan Abrahams again but I really love this. Could you pass this on to your players to help them get in the correct mental state.
