Football has started in the EPL and it very much feels like the start of an internation tournament. Lots of excitement and nerves but also all the first games are filled with players who are trying to play their way into form and worried about making mistakes, which is understandable. After watching the Man City Arsenal game, how would you help a player who’s had a disasterous game, like David Luiz, move on to the next. Drop him? Assess his reaction in training? Put your arm round him? It’ll be interesting to see if he plays any more games for Arsenal after his ban.

I've mentioned before but developing scanning and awareness are so important to todays game another video from the FA on developing observational skills.

Top 1v1 GK analysis here. 35% of shots faced by goalkeepers in the premier league are 1v1. Here John shows the most optimum save types according to shot location. Great work and something to note when speaking to you goalkeeper coaches and goalkeepers.
For those who are completing or have completed the FA level 2 coaching course a reminder of the practice spectrum that does a great job of explaining the advantages and disadvantages of the different levels.
